Modern Italian Novità
August/Agosto 2008
Dear Modern Italians,
Just in time for the Italian national holiday of "Ferragosto", a holiday that can only be described as "go the the beach!" for Italians, we are sending the latest news about Italy and Italian culture. We hope that you will enjoy all of the new developments and wish you a relaxing rest of summer.
We are fortunate to have such a prolific blogger in Ashley Bartner, proprietor of La Tavola Marche Bed and Breakfast in the Italian region of Le Marche. We encourage you to login or register to Modern Italian Network and join La Tavola Marche Microsite to receive automatic updates to their blog about events and stories from the area near Ashley's Bed and Breakfast. Just select "Join Group" and then "Subscribe" to the blog. It's easy and there's no better way to experience Italy without being there!
We receive plenty of emails about exclusive travel deals to Italy and have created a blog to provide you with the latest and greatest offers. Eurofly, an Italian airline with flights to Italy, has recently become a company member and has posted their current offer. Check out the Modern Italian Travel Deals blog for more information.
Much like the many travel-related emails we receive, there are many others that we think you will find interesting. "Tanto per" translates roughly as "why not" in Italian...
Our friends in Sicily, the Ragusani nel Mondo, have recently named Fiorella Migliore from Paraguay as Miss Italia nel Mondo (Miss Italia in the World) and we thought you might be interested...

What ever happened to the Modern Sicilian Network?
Member Inquiry
In June 2004, the Modern Sicilian Network was founded as a non-profit organization to assist the economic development of central Sicily. We were able to accomplish many of our goals through fundraising, events, consulting, and even two very successful tours of Sicily. Modern Sicilian continues to exist and is guided by Ms. Laura Alongi who is working to bring tourism to Calascibetta, a small and very picturesque town in the heart of Sicily.
Modern Italian Network was created to furnish you, our members, with a broader, more inclusive network of people passionate about Italy. Modern Italian Network is a for-profit company and it partially supports Modern Sicilian Network's philanthropic operations. We thank you for your continued support of both efforts and look forward to great things in the future.

We are constantly updating the Modern Italian Calendario and we encourage you to participate in local events in your areas. Please see the Modern Italian Calendario for upcoming events!
